The Griffin Family

Bill's grandfather Joe Schrier married Kathryn (Katie) Griffin. Katie's parents were James Griffin and Mary Boyle Griffin. They were married in St. Eugene's Cathedral in Derry, Ireland, before immigrating to the United States. Bill's Dad had the middle name "Eugene".

• Katie Griffin had four siblings: James, Nora, Viola and Mary Elizabeth (Bessie)
• James and Mae Griffin lived in or near Waterloo, Iowa, their whole lives and had no descendents.
• Nora and Leo Takes lived near Waterloo and Mesa Arizona, and had not descendents
• Viola and Phil Riggs had four children. Viola and Phil lived in Waterloo their whole lives.
• Bessie and Frank Weber had three children. They farmed near Eagle Center their whole lives, but Bessie lived in Waterloo for at least 30 years after Frank's passing.

The Boyle Family

Bill's great-grandmother Mary Boyle Griffin came from Inch Island, County Donegal, Ireland. Inch is about ten miles east of Derry. Bill has visited the Boyle cousins on Inch Island, and will add more information about the Boyle family here when he can collect it and has time, or contact me by e-mail here.
