Srajer and Schrier

Frank Srajer came to the United States in 1884. His parents followed him. His brothers John and Joseph Srajer also came to America, although I'm not sure if it was before him, with him, or after him. Frank changed the spelling of his name to "Schreier" and finally to "Schrier" in attempt (family legend has it) to have it pronounced correctly in America.

Therefore the Schriers of Traer, Iowa, are related to the Srajer families, especially the John and Joseph Srajer families of Kansas, and not to others who spell their name Schrier. See the Schrier family page for more information.

The Srajers in the United States

Frank Srajer (now Schrier) came to the United States in 1884. He married Maria Solil in 1890. See the Schrier family page for more information about them and their descendents.

Frank's parents Josef Srajer and Mary Svados Srajer came to America after 1884, according to Frank's obituary.

Frank had two brothers, John and Joseph, and a sister, Christina Waldo.

• John Srajer married Anna Skelnar. They lived in Kansas and Oklahoma. They had five children, Frank Srajer (married Tillie, now Tillie Hein), Vlasta Srajer, Alice Srajer Zaloudek, and Eliza Srajer Krebs.
• Joseph Srajer settled in Kansas and married Anna Jirak. They had three children, Ben, Elizabeth and Verner.
  • Ben married Dorothy (previous name unknown) late in life and had no descendents.
  • Elizabeth married John Tajchman and had two sons, Lawrence and Lester. Lester is still living. Elizabeth remarried later Joseph J. Vinduska after John's death. They had no children together.
  • Verner married Ethel McHale and had four children, susan, Ron, Kathy and Shawn, who died the same day he was born. Vern, Ethel and Shawn are all buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City, KS.
    • Susan married Leon McKedy and had two children, Darin and Andrea. Darien had two daughters, Whitney and Brenna, and is remarried to Laurette. Andrea married Paul Rodriquez. They have 6 children: Zachary, Alexandra, Luke, Anna, Maximilian and Gianna. Leon and Susan live in Omaha; Darin and his family live in Lawrence, Kansas; Paul and Andrea live in Hastings, Nenbraska, with their children.
    • Ron married Karen Glunt. They have three children: Angelique "Gigi", Anthony and Regina. Gigi has one daughter, Alexandra Landon. Anthony is married to Joyce Clark and has three children, Nicholas, Kaitlyn and Noah. Regina is unmarried and has no children. Ron and Karen live in Orange County, CA near Anthony and his family. Gigi lives in San Diego and Regina lives in Denver, Colorado.
    • Kathy married Alan Pitts. They have two sons, Jeff and Brian. Kathy and Alan live in Newton, Kansas. Jeff is married to Alexandria, live in Kansas City, Kansas and have two sons Gabe and Jason. Brian is married to Sarah Mesa, lives in Parker, Colorado, and they have one daughter, Tristyn and one son, Nathan.
  • Joseph, Anna. Elizabeth and Ben are all buried at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and Cemetery in Pilsen, Marion County, Kansas.
• Christina Waldo lived in Fairbury, Nebraska. She had no descendents.
